 2nd movie analysis

Green street hooligans

About the movie:

This movie is about a harvard student located in the USA is found with a stash of cocain in his property when the school checks it. When Matt is expelled from University he moves straight to London to live with his sister and her husband. Then he is quikly introduced to steve who is called pete, he quikly gets aquainted with pete with the idea of knowing someone who knows the city and he feels he won't be looked at as an outsider when pete takes him to all the bars and resturants as they raid the city he goes with pete , but after the havy drinking sessions with his close mates in London. On the way from a match Matt is confrunted by a vicious gang of Birmingham city thugs but luckily Pete steps in and gives a hand and saves Matt. The truth Matt learnt about pete and his friends were that they were football hooligans. This movie is so much related to our 2 minute opening scene because in this movie we see a drug/drinking related incidents and our movie has a similar theme to it although it doesnt reflect what our movie is going to show .

1st shot

This first shot starts with matt (the main character) in a room dazed like he was thinking about something really important or he had something was bothering him this denotes him looking down and the camera below him the mise-en-scene for this shot was in a room/house. The main source of light was the sunlight which was faded out to give credit to the charcter who was in the middle of the room which connoted he was the main charcter however matt was not faded out but you could see where the fade started in the shot and where it ended there was also a sountrack playing .

2nd shot

This second shot is starting with matt in the aiport about to board his flight in here the camera is a longshot  where you could see matt's whole body. here the music gets more loader as he rushes to give his ticket to the lady in the reception this connotes hurryness and anxiety from the charcters point of view  as matt hands over the money the camera zooms into the hands of matt in here the soundtrack gets louder and louder as this goes the text at beginning  starts with the names  of the differents characters playing the roles of the movie for Green Street Hooligans.

3rd shot

In this particualr shot he starts narrating about the past year of how he gets kicked out and previous studies he had studied .As he gets closer the camera gets lower and lower to catch his face . This shot is very well captured because they have focused Matts face and defocuses the background i feel this shot was created like this because
they wanted us to focus on the main subject which was Matt. The lighting for this shot was very sharp to say you could see everything in a bright and in a strong light ,the main source of light was the sun which was the most source

3rd movie analysis on

American Gangster

American Gangster is a crime related film which is similar to our 2 minute opening scene. American Gangster was directed by Ridely Scott. It starrs Denzel Washington and also Russell Crow. the feeling i get about the movie is that it has a real-type gangster to it. Frank lucas a gangster who resides in Harlem who smuggles her herion into America, Richie Roberts is the detective who is attempting to bring down Lucas's career in drugs (heroin). I feel that this movie is an example of ours as it has that real type of gangster theme and drug theme to it , this film has very much some of the simillar things to our opening scene of and this movie really inspires ours to be that extra really good- quality movie.

  • The location for this filming was done New York City. American Gangster was released in the United States and Canada on November 2, 2007.
  •  This film was nominated for two Academy Award.
  • The film was also nominated for two Academy Awards, including a notable Best Supporting Actress nomination for Ruby Dee.
  • This is the second film of Denzel Washington and Russell Crowe worked on together.
